The Deutsche Bank Cloud & Innovation Network Function drives the Bank’s cloud and innovation strategy, thought guidance, technology partnerships and investments, as well as the execution of cloud transformation and cross-bank innovation solutions. The team enables the Bank to accelerate and drive business led innovation, and to deliver revenue growth and operational efficiencies for all Bank divisions and Deutsche Bank ecosystem of partners.

As a data scientist, you’ll use advanced technologies and tools to work on pioneering projects and develop a range of innovative information and data powered solutions, involving Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). We require individuals with a strong dedication to engineering best practices, who thrive in complex, ever-changing environments and enjoy engaging with non-technical stakeholders. You’ll make a real difference for senior stakeholders across core banking functions - where computational complexity and efficiency problems abound – through your own delivery and through the promotion of modern development best practices and techniques.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and implement solutions using advanced interpretation, ML/AI and cloud technologies that fulfil Deutsche Bank's innovation strategy

  • Deliver high quality solutions through innovative design aligned with strong development practices

  • Provide technical direction within the team

  • Engage with product managers and business stakeholders to identify and evaluate opportunities to create value through innovative solutions

  • Collaborating with product managers, developers, and end-users to deliver working solutions and evaluation in an Agile and Iterative manner

  • Contribute to effective and efficient technical research and experiments

Your skills and experience

  • Experience working within data teams, built on a foundation of hands on- development

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in an understandable manner

  • Applied knowledge of Modelling (Statistical techniques, ML, text analytics, or Natural Language Processing)

  • Knowledge of the following is desirable - data engineering/data science tools - Vertex AI, BigQuery or DataProc, DevOps best practices (git, Continuous Integration/Continuous Development, test-driven development), Docker and Kubernetes and Big Data tools (SQL, Hadoop ecosystem, PySpark)

  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum delivery teams

  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics)
