Job Description

To create a safe, secure environment for our employees, customers and visitors, supporting the protection of key assets within our group of companies. Reporting to the Group Head of Health & Safety, you will form part of a team committed to the highest standards of safety and drive health and safety matters on a range of sites and businesses throughout the Group, whilst ensuring that we are compliant with our own policies and procedures alongside current legislation.

Provides support to the brands and leaders within Frasers European operations. Setting KPI’s, measuring general Health & Safety performance, celebrating and highlighting successes and delivering solutions and advice on best practice. Advising and assessing Fire safety is a key part of the role, along with accident and injury prevention, investigation of incidents and assisting with any liability claims reviews or insurance actions

• Work closely with the Group Head of Health & Safety to develop and maintain a robust and effective safety management programme for Europe
• Steer and develop internal Health & Safety business partners, external consultants and stakeholders
• Facilitate and drive support, advice, training and guidance to retail leadership and management about health and safety issues and risks within Europe
• Facilitate regular Construction and other site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented

• Monitor and report on audit reports with the necessary remedial actions to ensure compliance with country specific Health, Safety and Welfare legislation and obligations, including Equality and Inclusion

• Oversee European schedules for inspections, audits and reviews.

• Manage the Fire Risk Assessments and review process, escalating necessary remedial actions to ensure full compliance with the country specific and European standards

• Liaising and cooperating with External bodies, Fire Authorities and Local Authorities etc. as and when required

Qualifications

• Good educational background (basic GCSE passes in Math’s and English minimum grade C, A’ level standard preferred)
• Must hold a minimum qualification of Level 4 in Occupational Health & Safety, ideally completed or working towards Level 6 Diploma (or European Equivalent)
• Level 3 Fire Risk Assessors qualifications to BAFE or IFE standards (or European Equivalent)
• Significant experience working in the Retail sector, be a committed team player with good interpersonal skills and have a positive approach to site safety and management of people
• Good working knowledge of European Fire and Health & Safety legislation
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint programmes
• Hold a clean full driving license.
• Have sound knowledge and practical experience of completing risk assessments at all levels, including those linked to COSHH.
