Description:

Specialising in civil infrastructure projects, we are seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Junior Health and Safety Advisors. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or someone with minimal experience in health and safety who is passionate about ensuring the well-being of workers and promoting a safe working environment.

As our successful candidate you will be competent in the following areas:

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Health and Safety team in implementing and maintaining effective health and safety procedures on civil engineering projects
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate safety measures
  • Provide support in the development and delivery of safety training programs to increase awareness and knowledge among project personnel
  • Assist in incident investigations, analysing root causes, and making recommendations to prevent recurrence
  • Stay updated with relevant health and safety legislation, industry best practices, and emerging trends to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the preparation of health and safety reports, documentation, and records
  • Support the senior health and safety advisors in their daily tasks and projects
Qualifications
  • Recognised qualification in Health and Safety (NEBOSH, NCQR or other recognised equivalent)
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to civil engineering projects
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with project teams and workers
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Familiarity with conducting site inspections and incident investigations is an asset
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
