About the role

We are recruiting for General Operative in our Kerry Carrigaline site.

This is a full-time, permanent position. The role feature 12 hours a day shifts with rotating days and nights.

Key responsibilities

• Engage actively in relevant training plans to ensure target outcome is achieved within specified time period
• Ensure all operations are carried out, as per relevant procedures
• Comply with all specified Safety and Environmental standards in the execution of duties
• Maintain the production areas in a clean and organised manner
• Generate work requests/permits as required
• Develop a working knowledge and understanding of relevant plant equipment, pipe runs, services, etc.
• Engage in cross-training, as appropriate and flexible to work in other departments if required
• Ensure all appropriate documentation is completed in a neat and timely manner
• Adopt a pro-active approach in achievement of site, departmental and individual targets
• Running of the Spray Dryer in Powders
• Ensure safe and efficient use of forklift trucks
• Continuous Improvement in day to day duties
• Role will be based, initially in the Fermentation department but requirement to work in other departments at times may be necessary with business demands.

Qualifications and skills

• Previous experience in a manufacturing production environment and preferably in a highly automated manufacturing facility.
• Forklift driver - certified (experience essential & proof of Certificate required)
• Leaving certificate or equivalent
• Third level certificate in engineering/production or equivalent desirable (e.g. Fetac Level 5)
• Computer literate – Word, Excel, email
• Good team-working & communication skills
• Self-motivated & good organisational skills
• Looking for an energetic person, willing to work on own initiative and as part of a team
