HPE GreenLake Platform Cloud (GLCP) team allows you the opportunity to collaborate with both creative and engineering types to build HPE’s next generation cloud platform. Combining agile methodologies and a continuous integration and delivery pipeline, the GreenLake Cloud Platform partners with all of HPE and powers HPE’s transformation as a true cloud-native provider. On the GLCP team you will build innovative cloud platform capabilities that enables the delivery of rich HW and SW aaS solutions to customers.

HPE is currently seeking a Manager, Scrum Master to join our GreenLake Cloud Services organization to help in the missing of accelerating GreenLake for private and public cloud offerings while focusing on the end-to-end customer experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, consultative, technical, and reports to the Chief-Of-Staff of GreenLake Cloud Services engineering organization. We are looking for an experienced leader to help us define, build, execute and launch complex cloud services. The right leader has the right technical background to effectively work with product management, CTO leaders, and engineering architects. On the program front s/he would work closely with program and portfolio management teams in defining/refining processes, and efficiently lead a project across multiple organizations. At the heart of it, this role required very strong and core program management skills.

Job Family Definition:

Provides support and/or lead teams through the Engineering development process and implementation of company’s products. Projects are typically shorter-term, less complex and more contained with a defined time frame. Programs are typically longer-term, multi-functional, multi-project with complex requirements and effort. Manage activities, resource capability, schedules, budgets, and ensure cross company communications to facilitate product completion on schedule within budget. Work with engineering management to identify and improve process and program efficiencies. Work can involve external parties such as standards bodies, partners, etc.

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving common and complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages exempt individual contributors and/or supervisors. Has accountability for results of a major program in terms of cost, direction and people management. Provides guidance on process improvements and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy for area of responsibility. Plans, manages and monitors operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' work may involve strategic issues. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Typically reports to MG2 or Director.

Additional guidance/criteria: Manages and controls activities within a single country or a sub-region which is part of a larger geographical Region; Manages at least 4 employees and typically between 8 and 15 direct reports. Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

What you’ll do:

  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors coordinating, managing, and leading programs to drive the engineering development and implementation of products and service offerings.
  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
  • Communicates project status and escalates issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.
  • Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans,coaching, and career development; ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience required.
  • May have advanced university degree.
  • PMP/PMI certification preferred.
  • Typically 5 or more years of related work experience, including 3-4 years of people management experience.
