Summary The NCR retail consulting team are strategic thought leaders that help retailers tackle business challenges by envisioning, differentiating, and optimising customer and operational experiences. The Principal Consultant is an expert in customer experience design and digital transformation who will initiate and lead business engagements.
Role & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients with a focus on experience-led digital transformation
  • Identify, develop, and land engagements with existing and new NCR clients
  • Plan, organise, and execute strategic transformation engagements ensuring that a quality, integrated solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client’s satisfaction
  • Work with the broader NCR Professional Services teams to support the delivery of other technology consulting projects as needed
  • Partner with Sales and Product experts to guide and develop client opportunities
  • Develop thought leadership in the customer experience domain and create tailored propositions for clients
  • Use insights to lead client discussions and help shape their strategic agenda
  • Establish cross-functional relationships both within NCR and with clients to be viewed as a “go to” on the topic of retail trends, transformation, customer experience, and business operations efficiency

Experience
  • Deep retail industry knowledge/experience
  • Demonstrable experience in strategic consulting activities for complex organisations and delivering large-scale projects and programs
  • Experienced in design thinking, service design and human-centric design
  • A degree in business, marketing, communications, computer science, or engineering; MBA or similar graduate qualification preferred
  • Working with cross-functional and cross-geography teams
  • Working with senior-level client stakeholders, handling difficult conversations, and resolving issues
  • Co-ordinating multi-faceted activities and deadlines, anticipating challenges, difficulties, and pressure points
  • Evidence of thought leadership and innovative thinking
  • Strong knowledge & experience in at least 2 of the following areas/capabilities:
    • Mobile commerce/e-commerce
    • IOT / edge computing
    • Consumer engagement/loyalty
    • Experience design
    • Retail commercial analysis, e.g., category management, supply chain, store operations
    • Store format design
    • Analytics and AI
    • Cloud computing
    • Enterprise architecture
    • Agile ways of working
