What to Expect Tesla is seeking an ambitious (Associate) EHS Specialist to support our growing network of Tesla Sales, Services and Delivery locations in north EMEA, more specifically the UK and Ireland. You will use human and organizational principles to drive ownership of safety, health, and environmental impacts, with a focus on engagement, learning from events, training, and a systems-level problem solving. The overall charter is achieving compliance and risk control within the company’s and regulatory agencies’ standards in environmental, health and safety. You must work well on both self-initiated projects and those driven by stakeholders. You appreciate an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded. This position is based in London, UK and will require regional and international travel, given the geographical reach of the business. The primary focus of the role will be UK and Ireland. This role requires you to adapt to market expansion needs as the business is growing, and also provide support to the Tesla team in other North European countries. What You’ll Do

  • Analyze incident trends and use risk-assessment methods to identify continuous improvement projects that reduce injury, illness, and environmental impact events
  • Interface with local regulatory agencies on permitting, reporting and related issues
  • Be a visible model in the field and teach, train and coach business teams and support staff on fundamental EHS concepts and principles to reduce risk, and influence, inspire and empower business teams and staff to minimize the risk per our Tesla EHS vision, values, and principles.
  • Develop and maintain a partnership with and serve as a key advisor on EHS matters to Tesla operations leaders and stakeholders, associates, EHS members, and contracting partners
  • Conduct proactive and zero-blame, learning-focused field observations to verify that work in progress meets EHS goals and document findings
  • Identify operational gaps and creative solution facilitation, including identifying key stakeholders and driving innovative EHS solutions with cross-functional teams
What You’ll Bring
  • Demonstrated experience of applying government and regulatory environmental, health or safety regulations in the UK
  • Experience of working in environment, health and safety in the UK
  • Knowledge of UK, European and global work regulations and requirements
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to positively interact with the full range of senior business management and regulators, frontline workers and 3rd party entities
  • Have great attention to detail, problem-solving skills, multi-task, prioritizing, and working in a highly fast-paced environment, and a demonstrated ability to perform duties independently and remotely with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will also be a team player who can be proactive, creative, and innovative in approaching challenges
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record
