Post Title: Admissions Administrator SBU/Department: Marketing and Communications FTE: 1.0 fte (working 37 hours per week) Duration of Contract: Permanent Salary: UH4 £23,662 - £24,715 pa with potential to progress to £26,642 pa on achieving designated skills and experience Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our offices between Christmas & New Year Location: University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield (with option for partial remote working) We are pleased to offer this opening for an Admissions Administrator to join our friendly team in Student Marketing and Communications. The Admissions team sits within Student Marketing and Communications and manage the application process for Undergraduate, Postgraduate and College prospective students working with the academic schools of the University and our Consortium colleges. We are looking for the type of person who wants to make a difference to our applicant’s admissions journey into higher education. The Admissions team provide a customer focused service to potential students, schools and other University Staff and lead on major University events such as Clearing, one of the most important recruitment activities at the University. They are central to supporting recruitment targets and ensuring the admissions and enrolment of high-quality students. The role supports hybrid working with 3 work from home days each week and 2 in the office. Key periods may require increased office time. See more about Marketing and Communications at https://www.herts.ac.uk/staff/careers-at-herts/our-schools-and-departments/marketing-and-communications Main duties and responsibilities You will be responsible for processing applications for undergraduate, postgraduate and college prospective students, working with the academic schools of the University and our Consortium colleges. You will make decisions in consultation with other colleagues, and you will answer queries and provide information and guidance to a range of stakeholders in all aspects of the admissions process. For our team to operate effectively, team working is an essential part of the post. As such, the post holder will be expected to work closely with the team leader and deputies in addition to other colleagues. Skill and experience required For this busy and challenging role, you will have excellent organisational and IT skills. Proven experience of managing priorities and working to strict deadlines is essential. You will also be a good communicator, with the ability to pay attention to detail and you will be committed to providing a high-quality service. You will be able to both follow clear defined processes and also be keen to collaborate and improve processes to increase applicant experience. Qualifications required You will hold a minimum of five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent level qualification, or proven work experience. A-level, degree or a higher qualification (or equivalent qualifications) would be advantageous.
