The Major Trauma Centre at UHS is part of the Wessex Trauma Network which serves a population in the region of 2.5M and includes 10 hospitals, 3 ambulance services and air ambulances across five counties.

This role is unusual in that we follow each patient's individual journey from the incident, through ED, theatre, wards and onto discharge. Once the key information is identified at each stage it is then inputted into the NMTR. This information is used for national, regional and local research, audit and performance comparison, therefore attention to detail is vital, as part of the selection process there will a short onsite test on the day of the interview.

The ideal candidate for this role will need to be able to focus and concentrate for long periods of time as patient journeys are never the same and differ in their levels of complexity.

The ability to adapt and learn is important as the NMTR is constantly evolving.

An enquiring mind with an interest in the human body would find this role extremely engaging as there is always something new to learn.
